That Reagan video contrast and context really offers up some perspective.
If there is any reason left to go the Los Angeles area, its the Reagan Library in nearby Semi Valley. The place is amazingly rich in content. Even if you don't don't take the tour you can kill a few hours wondering around the place and taking in things like an original copy of the COTUS. The self guided tour has more than you can possibly take in during a single day or 3. You can't take the tour without coming out just floored with appreciation for the guy's life.
When we have to go down to Hollywood we usually stay in nearby Agoura Hills. We have a favorite hotel we stay at that's just a few miles away. The library is fairly isolated from the city environment, a vineyard and and a horse ranch is what you see from his grave. When we end up with extra days down there we like to visit the library and we've done the paid tour 3 times now.
