It would be incredibly hard to find even unskilled American workers to, say, pick strawberries, for the wages the illegals get. If we were to cut off the flow immediately, there's be a rise in food costs. Not really a bad thing, move general labor back into the hands of Americans. I was at a sporting goods distibution plant earlier this week. Every single person I saw was of Hispanic persuasion & only one spoke decent english. This is in Marion Indiana, hardly Tijuana's sister city. Foxs generalization was right, he just chose his words poorly.

Here, we fly migrant workers in from other countries, they stay in lodging on the farms for a few weeks, then they get paid Canadian wages and are flown back.
Generally, they do a TON of shopping. I was talking to some Jamaicans one year in the town I used to live in, and they said they usually just come here and work just to get cash to spend on the goods they can get here. Yesterday I was in the second hand store, and there was a group of migrant workers from Mexico. They were getting me to help them figure out sizes their wives would be and explain what all the sizing went in women's clothing. It was really cute
