"Rumsfeld is ace of spades in French deck of cards
September 27, 2003

US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is the Ace of Spades and al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden a Joker in a provocative pack of French playing cards depicting "the 52 most dangerous American officials...."

So does this mean France is telling the U.S. to not count on them for anything more then a swift kick in the pants?

We should have just let Hitler have his way with the French.

Clearly, they have not been victimized enough by terrorism to have a clue.

I believe they're making fun of those who use terrorism as an excuse to invade countries that had no connection to the terrorism.

I don't think you read the link. They're not making fun... these cards are from a radical group that actually thinks 9/11 was a US conspiracy to raise money. Remember the French book about the 9/11 conspiracy that made such big waves? Same guys.

They're serious. Thank god not all French people are that mentally damaged.

That would be like me buring down my house and killing my family "to raise money".

The loss would far far out weight any potential gains...

I think they are on crack.

no they probably are that paranoid and psychotic. dont get me wrong I am not a fan of anyoen in the Bush admin, but i dont blame them for 9/11. i blame the bastards who hijacked the planes. this group is just pointing fingers.

"We were shocked by the indecency of the cards distributed by the US military. It was as if arresting people was some kind of game," Meyssan told Reuters.

The French cards bestow that honour not on US President George W Bush but on Rumsfeld. Under his mugshot, he is accused of using the September 11 attacks "to increase military budgets and plan an army in space that could completely dominate Earth".

This would be satire. It is good to see though that you recognize that the joke comes from a particular group in France instead of blindy attributing things to the entire country as other people in the thread have done.

I'd hate to think that people in other countries believed all U.S. citizens supported the mess we made in Iraq, but I guess there's people that can't distinguish everywhere.

i am fairly sure this is a satirical commentary, i saw a similar deck at a conference in london yesterday shipping for 5quid. i pretty much expected it would happen sooner or later, the gimmick of the iraq cards is too good a one to miss and is so memorable.

i don't think it warrants the blasts of vitriol toward the french people though, the commentary is merely a gimmick of their own to raise some money and as such should be treated with a certain degree of salt.
