They don't say how it got started. I wonder if it was some form of spontaneous chemical reaction akin to methane and decomposition or lightning or even someone pulling off the ultimate 'burning doggy-doo bag' prank of the century.

I'm sure that since the existing laws didn't prevent this behemoth from spountainious organic combustion. That someone will decide that preventing future burning piles of poo-poo will be their calling, their contibution to society thru civil servitude.

No one is sure how the fire started, but a common theory is that heat from the decomposing manure deep inside the pile eventually ignited the manure.

Do they have any idea how many gardens would welcome a pile of that stash? Preferably the unignited variety.

a 50lb bag is like 1-2 bucks at lowes I think.
I haven't bought any in a couple of years.
It seems they'd try to bag it and sell it, before it got that big???? :confused:
 
Well this is small potatoes really. Theres a place in Pennsylvania called Centralia where theyve been trying to put a mine fire out since 1961.
