Goodbye Gipper, hello stainmaster

It'a not LIE!

it's just listed under fiction.

(actually I haven't read it, but I am sure it is a work of trash, and self importance, like any other political autobiography, liberal or conservative)

Yep....unbiased observers & reporters

CBS News legend Dan Rather was one of the few people to get his hands on an advance copy of the hotly awaited and tightly guarded 975-page memoir My Li e, by former President Bill Clinton. So what’s the verdict, Mr. Rather?

"Maybe he didn’t come totally, absolutely clean with himself, but he made an effort to do it," he said, "an effort it would be difficult to find with any former President."

Did Mr. Rather like the book?

"I liked it more than I thought I would," he said, "more than I was prepared to like it. Who knew that Bill Clinton could write this well?"

"As Presidential memoirs go," he added, "on a five-star scale, I give it five."

Clinton Tells '60 Minutes' of Infidelity

Wed Jun 16, 7:58 PM ET

NEW YORK - Former President Bill Clinton (news - web sites) called his marital infidelity a "terrible moral error" whose disclosure to his wife put him "in the doghouse," during an interview scheduled for this Sunday's "60 Minutes."

Why did he commit adultery with White House intern Monica Lewinsky?

"For the worst possible reason," Clinton said. "Just because I could. I think that's just about the most morally indefensible reason anybody could have for doing anything."

Questioned by CBS News anchor Dan Rather, Clinton said he, his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton (news - web sites), and their daughter, Chelsea, dealt with their family crisis through counseling.

"We did it together. We did it individually. We did family work," he said.

Clinton said he never considered resigning as president, and described his battle against the "abuse of power" of the impeachment process "a badge of honor."

"I stood up to it and beat it back," he said. "I don't see it as a stain, because it was illegitimate."

Excerpts from the interview, taped Tuesday at Clinton's home in Chappaqua, N.Y., and last weekend in Arkansas, were released by CBS Wednesday. The interview will occupy the full hour of the newsmagazine.

It is timed to next week's publication of Clinton's memoir, "My Li e," which covers his Arkansas childhood, his tenure as that state's governor as well as his presidency. The book, published by Alfred A. Knopf, has a first printing of 1.5 million copies.

Oh, puh-leeeze. *puke*

"For the worst possible reason," Clinton said. "Just because I could. I think that's just about the most morally indefensible reason anybody could have for doing anything."

If he'd been that forthcoming to begin with, we could've avoided the whole mess....

"I stood up to it and beat it back," he said. "I don't see it as a stain, because it was illegitimate."

...but, of course, he couldn't see his way clear to being that up-front.

Q: What does Bill Clinton say after sex?

A: Hello, Hillary? Yeah, I'll be home in just a little bit. I had to stay late at the office and I'm just now leaving.

Winky: How could anyone with a shred of personal decency support that guy?
ResearchMonkey: that is the point isn’t it?

 :rofl2: :rofl3: :rofl4:

NY Times said:
As his celebrated 1993 speech in Memphis to the Church of God in Christ demonstrated, former President Bill Clinton is capable of soaring eloquence and visionary thinking. But as those who heard his deadening speech nominating Michael Dukakis at the 1988 Democratic National Convention in Atlanta well know, he is also capable of numbing, self-conscious garrulity.

Unfortunately for the reader, Mr. Clinton's much awaited new autobiography "My Life" more closely resembles the Atlanta speech, which was so long-winded and tedious that the crowd cheered when he finally reached the words "In closing . . ."

The book, which weighs in at more than 950 pages, is sloppy, self-indulgent and often eye-crossingly dull — the sound of one man prattling away, not for the reader, but for himself and some distant recording angel of history.

This just won't die. Even when intentionally ignoring him a story comes along too big to overlook.

Dan gave My Lie 5 stars. A few days later this is revealed

CBS News Confirms Amazon.com Partnership.
June 23, 2004, 12:27:12 EDT

--RatherBiased.com has received official confirmation from an ad executive at CBSNews.com that the network's Web site is a business partner with Amazon.com.

In an interview, CBSNews.com sales director David Ghiraldini verified the existence of the relationship but declined to discuss the partnership or its ethical ramifications for a news organization profiting from the sale of controversial political books.

Ghiraldini became defensive after reading our earlier item which first disclosed the partnership, a story which he repeatedly insisted was "incorrect." When asked repeatedly what parts of RatherBiased.com's story were in error, Ghiraldini declined to do so, insisting only that the story was incorrect.

"I don't think I should have to tell you," the executive replied "I'm just telling you it's not correct. I just don't think I can discuss this. Maybe I can call you back if I ever want to talk about it."

Pressed further, Ghiraldini reverted to his previous statements, insisting, however, that he did support the public's right to know the truth.
