Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett Dies at 45

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Kirby Puckett, the bubbly, barrel-shaped Hall of Famer who carried the Minnesota Twins to two World Series titles before his career was cut short by glaucoma, died Monday after a stroke. He was 45.

In 2003, he was cleared of all charges from an alleged sexual assault of a woman at a suburban Twin Cities restaurant and kept a low profile after the trial, eventually moving to Arizona.

I had a close friend that died at 35 from one. (ex paratrooper)
He had a blood clot in his leg that move, and got him.

thats what i was thinking of. either that or some seriously clogged arteries that had some plaque break off.

Oh, in Kirby's case, he got hit by a ball during his career.
That caused him to quit, and eventually cause Glaucoma.
Then that caused all kinds of problems that eventually took him out.

This brings back memories of the baseball stadium video clips I've seen....the girl behind homplate flashing the pitcher, the couple in an empty area of the stands humping....no wonder he got hit.
