Is it a winpopup, or is it poping up through a program like icq, or ie?

ohohohohoh! I have a cure for thiiiiiis!! buuuuut.... dammit cant remember it! it involves microsoft messanger (not MSN messanger) in XP. It makes popups look like genuine MS system stuff and allows ads to roam freely through your net connection....I'll get the cure for you asap

it's not messenger...that's disabled already :crap:

xp is annoying the hell out of me...how do I make it show hidden files in C: ?

a program called pest patrol says it found this :eek13: and I've found the folders but cannot see any files within them :retard:

there are others it found too...weatherbug, whazit...same dealie :blank:

It seems I had this problem one time, and I had to ....
loggin as a different user,
then go to "documents and settings"
goto the user that you just logged off as,
goto "cookies",
and delete the index.dat file.

To show hidden, and system files...
goto control panel, then click on folder options.
then goto the view tab,
and it's in there...

yeah,
I intalled weatherbug one time, and just about had to do a fresh install to
get rid of it. :thumbdn:

i got the perfect solution for you Les:

format c:
install win2k, just the way you used to be :D

 I think I might have to...

Mirlyn, I've gone through ctrlaltdel, there's nothing in there that shouldn't be :retard:

I believe it is all part of XP's ways of publishing content according to your interests and high and rich internet integration to make your PC a beautiful eXPerience

FUCKERS!!!!!

ok...i seem to have got rid of the popuppy stuff by rolling back a couple days...

now just to get over being violated by the keystroke logger :(

so....

who uses a 'userfriendly'enough packet sniffer that will work in xphome for a gal that gets it but doesn't have the lingo down yet? [/blond]
