His aide is clairvoyant?

"Had I been reading to children and had my top aide whispered in my ear, 'America is under attack,' I would have told those kids very politely and nicely that the president of the United States had something that he needed to attend to -- and I would have attended to it," Kerry told the Unity conference of minority journalists in response to a question about what he would done.

Had my aide told me that with no more information than was available, I'd have him/her arrested for treason.

Shut 'em down

That's just bullshit, knowing what he would have done? Fuck, I don't think anyone could have acted perfectly calm and rational the first few minutes after hearing that news. Low blow John.

This may be really bang out of order but knowing that all my close family and friends were either not on a plane, and in the case with the pres, minutes from a military bunker... then I could have reacted well... I don't go in for wide spread hysterical empathy...

Well, I didn't have anyone on a plane, nor did I know anyone in NYC, but it still made me sit down and stare at the TV for a good half hour, stunned.

Yeah! I was at work... department store... we all kept nipping up to audio visual to sneak a peak.

It was shocking but as one porter (guy who moves stuff for a living) put it...

"Blimey! thats a little larger than owt the IRA managed! Aye... that'll put the shits up em!"

"Holy Shit, that's alot bigger that what the IRA ever managed, that'll piss em off?"

Just checking to make sure I understand that.

Close mate close..

To "put the shits up" means to scare... which is how most of us think you reacted.

And it was, I suppose. Certainly scared me. I guess the thing that bothers me is this. I'm glad he thought about it for a few minutes before he reacted. He could have thrown the book down and ran out of the room calling for airstrikes on any country that had ever said a foul word about us.

I was working when it happened, too. My hours at the time were 0730-1630. I was at my desk, and was called into another part of the office, and it was on CNN. At first, I thought it was something else. I couldn't believe it was real. When I finally looked up, my NCOIC, and my OIC were already planning the shift-watch schedule. I've been on 12-hour shifts since then...everywhere I go.

I am sinply amazed with Kerry’s powerful “I would have . . . “ statement. It’s so clear and decisive, after investigating, polling, think-tanking, and being mulled over by committees for weeks. He would have acted so swiftly and hastily he may have earned another purple heart somehow.

Where was Kerry? He was with Bab's Boxer, they realized 'they couldn't think'. :eek8:

Fortunately for them the Whitehouse gave them leadership and direction in this time of trouble.

from the larry king show:

KING: Where were you?

KERRY: I was in the Capitol. We'd just had a meeting -- we'd just come into a leadership meeting in Tom Daschle's office, looking out at the Capitol. And as I came in, Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon. And then word came from the White House, they were evacuating, and we were to evacuate, and so we immediately began the evacuation.

:retard:

Source CNN
:rofl3: So between 9:03 and 9:43, for forty minutes, they sat and contemplated with each other and came to capitulate that “we just realized nobody could think”. They very well may have remained there ponder what are the ramifications of ‘not thinking’ if the Whitehouse had not ordered an immediate evacuation.

By his own words, he could not think for: 40 minutes, quite a different story then his hindsight version of what he would have done. :spank:

(9:03 and 9:43 = the times between the second plane hitting the towers and the plane hitting the Pentagon that he referenced as to what he was doing at those times.{*nothing*})
