I love traveling, but there's no place like home.

The hubby and I drove out to sunny--oops, "rainy" California to see the son, daughter-in-law, and the year old grandson.

Managed to drop a few bucks in the casinos in Laughlin, both going and coming.

Got home to find the yard/pasture butt deep in grass, weeds, and wild flowers. Had to knock it down with the tractor before the lawn mower could finish it.

And the wash! It seems like I wind up washing 3 times as many clothes as I took. I think the dirty laundry does naughty things while in the laundry bag.

And the first night in my own bed was absolute heaven. I'm not sure why hotels think the harder the bed, the better. Some were like sleeping on the bare floor.


Oh, here's the grandbaby. Built like a linebacker. With RED hair.

Inkara, the son and family lives in Elk Grove -- just south of Sacramento.


Sn'P, I'm leaning toward Richmond in September. Then, of course, Texas in November --- ending under the lights.

What she said. Vacation is so much fun, but you feel like you need a vacation after you get back and get unpacked and take care of your "butt deep" lawn.
