I think this is going to be bad, very bad, even here in north Ga. :eek13:
It looks like the predicted pathe is straight up the middle of Fl, and then Ga, and who knows next.

yep this is very bad. Not much place to run. Maybe west to AL.
I guess I'll be battoning down the hatches here. :zap:

It isn't gonna have to curve too far north of prediction to hit Atlanta itself. Wouldn't surprise me if a category 5 would still be a 2 or 3 when it get here. Remember Opal? That was bad enough, and it was a tropical storm when it got here.

If it goes down the center of the prediction... It's going to be the worst, and covering
the most land, than any hurricane has that I can remember.
I was in N-Carolina when Hugo came through, and it was just downgraded to
a tropical strom hours before. That's the most downed trees I have ever seen.
I worked for my bro-inlaw, doing small engine repair and retail sales. He had
about 30 chainsaws, and we sold them all in one day. There were people
that had come up fro Charleston, and told us that the same saws we were selling
for $300, were over $1000 down there. There was some major gouging going
on then, and I imagine there could be some this time, so I'd buy what you
might need now, if it the path.

Looks like it was deliberately aimed to make floridians miserable, don't it?

Anybody that has 84F in Janurary needs something. Cali has earthquakes. Phoenix has 120F summers, Fl has hurricanes.

Same kind of thing happened over here during the Ice Storm. Some of those places don't exist anymore because money lasts a few days, but people's memories of being gouged last the lifetime of the store.

One place close to my house was selling candles for $2/pop. They closed down within 3 months of the ice storm being over...no-body went into their store after it was over.

Awwwww....what a friggin' shame.

A good example of a self-correcting market.

Price gougers beware: they take that very seriously in Florida. In the aftermath of a storm, the state brings in teams from the Florida Division of Consumer Services to monitor pricing, and they will hammer anyone who is caught gouging.

With any luck, you'll get as many new toys and plants as Francis takes away.
