I Finally Got My Dress

After what seemed like YEARS of waiting (which was only two months), I picked up my finished reenactment dress. I love it to pieces, except that I'd rather have a hoopskirt as compared to a crinoline. You can tell in the pictures how uneven the skirt is.

But I can buy one of those at Gettysburg. I have pictures as well. Don't mind me, just oogle the dress :lol2:

You certainly look impassioned...that picture screams stirred :D .

Nice dress. I am partial to traditional costumes and theatrical design myself but only because they are incredibly fun and amazing to draw.

Drama lighting and Victorian costumes make for incredible paintings. Degas has some incredible work in that style...Ballerinas in drama lighting. Mary Cassett also did a painting of a women looking down to the stage from her balcony. Great stuff.

VERY NICE! do you sew at all? i was perusing a website that offered all sorts of historically accurate sewing patterns...you could whip yourself up a reenactment warddrobe.
