i finally know what Boxty is!!!

this girl wrote it in her livejournal the other day, when she said she made some.

tho i've been wondering, kind of passively, what it was since i saw a st patricks-time episode of SNL, where whoever was hosting played an old irish cook on The Delicious Dish, and proceeded to rattle off the rhyme. i dont recall him explaining what boxty was then, either.

Basically it's the same sort of thing as hashbrowns or Rösti. Don't know what it tastes like though.
