.... To play all the latest games that are coming out this fall/winter.
I built this system for "3" reasons,.....( Doom3 - Half Life2 - Max Payne2).. what do you think?
Did I forget anything ?

if more space is needed I'll pop in a second 120 drive, possibly in raid .
as far as noise.. the card is very quite. now the 5800 series was the atomic hairdrier that took up the agp and the first pci slot.. mine is about as big as a Ti4600.. maybe just a tad longer.
 
Ah yes, haven't been building systems much lately. Don't bother with IDE raid, too troublesome and alot less dependable than SCSI. Have ya noted that IDE quality has dropped alot more these past few years? :(
 
yes, the drives don't last as long as they used to... but I seem to upgrade far sooner than a drive is expected to last :D
preformance wise- I have no complaints about this drive ! (this is the second one, first one was DOA). now the "Raptors" are FAST, but 36 gigs? common now..... you would need 2 just to be usefull..
 
I got a raptor, using it as boot drive on my downstairs rig, pretty fast but yes, kinda small. Lets hope they perfect the 10k platters for higher densitys.
