the Boston Globe regularly prints a list of people that have unclaimed monies. anything from old savings accounts to safe deposit boxes. if there is no activity on something for 3 years, the institution gives the particulars to the state and they print the list.
that site looks like a national version.

I'd start by reading their terms of service and privacy policy to see what they're going to do with any information you provide or if there are "fees" involved in collecting.

Then I'd do a web search to try and find people who have claimed money from them, or if they confirm it's a scam.

Better to be an informed consumer than be scammed.

No, that site is backed by many of the states, including AZ. Ask 'em yourself, it's on the front page.

Financial institutions have to put unclaimed funds into state escrow after a certain amount of time with no contact and no responses to attempts to make contact. If the rightful owners step up, it's theirs. No strings in most cases.
