In New Orleans, city officials were actually going to pay the former security director of Nation of Islam for police “sensitivity training” until someone realized that Louis Farrakhan’s group might not be the best role model for such a thing, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Police Superintendent Eddie Compass withdrew from a $15,000 contract with Dennis Muhammad, who has provided similar training in other cities, after members of the police department and community objected to the idea.
Maybe it was the fact that Farrakhan once called Judaism a "dirty religion" and has preached racial separatism that made Compass change his mind.
