The Democrats defending Obama's advisor Raines while denouncing the regulators of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and stating that there is no problem with either. All in the face of Republicans calling for more regulation of them.

Yopu mean as in "Ignore that man behind the curtain"?

There were no fewer than 12 attempts by the Bush administration and Republicans to get more regulation and the Democrats stood in the way every time. So, yeah, I'm going to place blame where it belongs.
