Not like this is a new problem. These are the nations that were victorious in WWII and so they were granted these powers. They are also the same nations that rendered the UN so ineffective during the cold war. There were something like 300 vetos during the cold war because each nation either chose to side with the US or Russia and so essentially every important item was vetod. Same shit different day.
