No, not Gores debacle.

KIEV, Ukraine (AP) - The Supreme Court declared the results of Ukraine's disputed presidential run-off election invalid on Friday and ruled that the run-off should be repeated on Dec. 26, bringing cheers and fireworks from tens of thousands of opposition supporters massed in Kiev's main square.

What would Jesus do?

Ha ha yeah like when the Rooskies pissed and moaned when we blew the crap outta Belgrade!

Nah them Ukrainians are doomed.

Long term...we're witnessing the return of the Soviet Union. Hey, CIA, ya paying attention this time?

The Turks might have a problem with us rolling a battle fleet right up their territorial waters to get into the Black Sea ... and the Ukraine has nukes.

I keep mis-thinking that Ukraine is a humungous country... but I think that's because I played Risk on the computer a bunch when I was younger and the region called Ukraine in the game stretches almost all the way to the Arctic Ocean.

With all the support Ukraine is getting, someone will provail. There are Ukrainians from Montreal and all over the world going to Ukraine to check the ballots etc. If all goes properly, Yuschenko will win this election. We won't let that asshole Yanukovich win.

Strangely enough, Yanukovich is the person who most supports the US, and our current administration is backing Yuschenko...mostly because of the popularity of Yuschenko in Ukraine. I'm not sure, but I think Putin is backing Yanukovich. Talk about a tangled, full-grown, whopper of a voting dilemma... :lloyd:

Yanukovich is backed by Kremlin etc. He's a communist bastard so of course the people don't want him. Whether he supports the US or not makes no difference to the people in Ukraine. What they are looking for is someone who is going to listen to their issues and help them, not try to make things worse for them.

Well now.

MEDICAL experts have confirmed that Viktor Yushchenko, Ukraine’s opposition leader, was poisoned in an attempt on his life during election campaigning, the doctor who supervised his treatment at an Austrian clinic said yesterday.

Doctors at Vienna’s exclusive Rudolfinerhaus clinic are within days of identifying the substance that left Mr Yushchenko’s face disfigured with cysts and lesions, Nikolai Korpan told The Times in a telephone interview.

Spirited to say the least. The results are in.

VIENNA, Austria (AP) - Ukrainian presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko was poisoned with dioxin, doctors said Saturday, adding that the highly toxic chemical could have been put in the opposition leader's soup, producing the severe disfigurement and partial paralysis of his face.

Yushchenko was in satisfactory condition and was expected to be released from Vienna's private Rudolfinerhaus clinic Sunday or Monday to return to the campaign trail in Ukraine, said hospital director Dr. Michael Zimpfer.
