is a business allowed to "sell" money?

There is a sleazy "preying on the poor" cheque cashing place across the street from me. One of their new services is selling quarters :eek6:

for $10, they'll give you a whopping $8.50 in quarters.

think they're allowed to do that? I don't even know where to start to look.

If anybody is stupid enough to "buy" money...why the hell not?

seems to be close to...I dunno...usury or something...

I know it's not exactly usury, but it seems just wrong.

dunno?

it's 2 doors down from a laundromat and has a payphone right outside the door :retard:

just hang out a sign saying you'll cash cheques for a hellish fee...and when they ask for small change, charge for it :retard:

...and that 15 percent "convenience fee" isn't the biggest rip-off those places run, either.

I doubt it's against the law at all, if they had a machine that said it would give you change, I think they'd have to give you the full 10, but since they are advertising that you only get 8.50 out of it, I guess it's up to the dumbass that goes in and asks for quarters.

If I were you, I'd run to the bank and start selling $9 in quarters for 10.

I had a rather witty comment on the stupidity of the North American, but, then, I figured that I was also in that group, so I decline to post it. :D
