Is Avast any good?

I tried it but I found it kind of useless, it wouldnt remove viruses it didnt have DB entries for, and it didnt have any DB entries!

Maybe it was just the 3 downloads that I got that were bugged :tardbang:

I'm sticking with AVG thankyaverymuch...nice detection engine and in some cases warns you when a virus is dl'ing itself :)
 
Yep what he said, AVG is always reliable, caught all my viruses while downloading. Best free detection scanner out there imho

No, Avast apparently sucks. I just went to a site, and avast popped up to inform me of a bajillion files infected with IFrame Exploit virus. It itself is infected. It's fucked, and useless. :grumpy:
 
The bastit thing wiped out my brand new firefox and thunderbird? :confuse3:

weeeeeeeeeeeird.
