Even while his three foundations continue to spend millions of dollars on environmental and health initiatives, Ted Turner told a newspaper group Sunday night he does not have an optimistic outlook for the future of the world.
"If I had to predict, the way things are going, I'd say the chances are about 50-50 that humanity will be extinct or nearly extinct within 50 years," Turner said. "Weapons of mass destruction, disease, I mean this global warming is scaring the living daylights out of me."

There are WMDs, we just didn't need to leave the coutry to find most of them.

I think the WRDs (Weapons of Regular Destruction) are doing enough damage without any help from the WMDs.


OT: Fifty years is a bit soon. Fifty thousand is a certainty. Somewhere therein lies the answer.

200 years ago Lewis and Clark were the first US Citizens to cross the Rockies.

100 years ago Horatio Jackson was the first to drive an automobile across the contry.

30 years ago man waked on the moon.

A lot can happen in fifty years.
 
Well, they did have to sleep while they were there.:)

I could have said crapped on the moon, I suppose.
