Jenin

Gonz, to bad you don't have Canadian channels

they had a Documentry called "massacre at Jenin"

it was all about bais in news outlets, and how the story can be blown out of proportion.

Can't find a link to it right now, but I will update when I can.

Basically there was some action between Palastinians and Israelis int he west bank town of Jenin, and the Palastinians said it was a massacre, and all the news outlets picked up on that, leading to shouting, and calling people war criminals.

the UN investigated, and found.....nothing.
no massacre, no war crimes, yet the press still refuses to back away from the story.

So what do you people think of the media, is it to biased one way or the other, are there any truely impartial news groups out there?

I think local reporters can be objective. A majority of the national or international variety seem to get the DNC fax every morning. It was another thing I tried my damnedest to ignore & refute but. alas, I can no longer.

The FoxNews crew gets the RNC fax but it just says-We already own the White House & Capital Hill. Don't piss us off. :D

I suppose in the interest of international fairness I should re-phrase myself.

A majority of the national or international variety seem to get the DNC fax, or their local socialist equivalent, every morning.

Didn't have to look too far. seems there have been several assaults on Jenin over the years.

So a military incursion to catch and arrest a 'criminal' is the same thing as a massacre? Come, now, Squiggy...even you can do better than that. ;)

Edited for convenience...

Israel's response to terror attacks in the 80's and 90's was the demolition of Palestinian homes. Could that picture be just such a home? Can't really tell...

One more thing...Most of those other sites are based on severely one-sided accounts. None of them seem to mention the continuous attacks of the Palestinians on the Israelis, now do they?

Um..Gato...Its not in reference to the latest news from Jenin. This happened 2 years ago....and apparently a few other times. :eh:

I understood that from the beginning, Squiggy. I just don't know if it was a massacre or just a bull-dozing of a few houses. I also know the penchant of news organizations for, shall we say, embellishing the truth? Both sideshave the knack to ruffle your feathers, and I think that's what they did.

Anyway I was talking about the the documentry called "massarce at jenin"

it's about the media lying about what happened

I'm not ruffled. I know full well how they both play the press....
and anyone else who will listen.

He said he couldn't find a link on so I provided one.

what would you call it if they ramsacked everything and killed everyone in sight. even if they were trying to catch a "criminal".(this is a general question Gato it has nothing at all to do with the story)

Did you know that a police officer with a search warrant has the right to do that to anybody the warrant is on? That stuff you see on TV showing 'bad' cops ransacking a house because they have a search warrant is based on fact. ;)

Ever seen a house after cops, armed with a search warrant, are done? It ain't pretty.

actually the warrant has to be specific. if there is reason to believe it could be anywhere then yes. but if you are searching for something big like say a cadaver and you check the drawers and find weapons well your SOL. now the plain view doctrine is a little different
