Just got one of these

Fairly cheap, just US$90.

The other UPS I have doesn't have noise supression, this one seems to do a pretty good job with noise and surges.

I plugged the new one to the old one so I could have extra backup time, for a total of 60 minutes aprox

When I did it, it was just a matter of recompiling the 2.4.21 kernel with support for it.

I have no idea how to bridge nics with iptables, sorry to disappoint you Mirlyn. I've been staying out from Linux for the past 8 months, so much of what I knew is forgotten, yesterday I booted into Linux and I didn't even remember the "equivalent for ipconfig", after about 10 minutes i found it was ifconfig
