Just look what Andrea Yates started...

I would love to be the one who had the honor of lighting the pilot light in Hell for this monster.

Oh, and good call there Texas CPS social workers. Really nailed that one, huh? :retard3:

Medias attempt to justify the actions of an otherwise 'well adjusted mother'?

I believe you are 100% correct.
I know this may taken the wrong way but why can't people just believe 'shit happens' and that someone, maybe just for once, is culpable for their actions?

Anyone?

Because of the following reasons...

1. It doesn't make good press...
2. It's not 'Politically Correct'...
3. It's legal suicide.

and many more...

Screw the lawyers....hell they screw everyone else and isn't it just nice to give for a change?

She was taking anti-psychotics. Now, I have worked in the field of mental health, and as a result am usually not one to fall into the trap of stereotypes about it. But I also am realist enough to know that when one takes anti-psychotics, then one is not generally considered well-adjusted.

Explain that to the press, which seems to be painting her out as 'a perfect mother'...

Goes to show that these so called "experts" aren't that good at what they do...

We should feel lucky that the child didn't survive. The child would have had to live a tormented life if it had survived. I feel particularly sorry for the two other children. They will have this to live with for the the rest of their own lives.

In California, if someone calls CPS on you and your apartment is sparkling clean, they'll leave. You could have a portable torture rack hidden under the bed, and they wouldn't check for it.

I have seen cases here in Washington state where real abuse existed and CPS was called and did nothing and I have seen one case where false accusations were made and CPS was all over it like stink on shit. You never know what you'll get. I saw a newspaper article that said there are 3000 CPS cases past the deadline for action to be taken in this state. I know they are horribly under-staffed.

In most states, the pay is shit. Yes, they are overworked, understaffed, overpolicied, over-red taped, and sadly underqualified.

Again, I draw on my own experience working in the social services arena. You hire ten people. Four are inept, lazy, or otherwise unfit to do the job. Three are too concerned with their own agendas to focus on their task. Two will be put off by the dreadful pay and leave to either persue other fields or go back to school. The other one is worth keeping.
