Anyone watch this two hour documentary on the history channel? What an awesome story. Most of this was before my time that is, before i paid much attention to international affairs. I knew various generalities of his story but i had no idea it was such an amazing soap opera. The guy had three presidental nominees assassinated, held the supreme court hostage killing eleven of the justices when the columbian military moved in with an armored force including tanks, just to name a few and when the government with the help of Delta force began to move in on him he negotiated changes to the governments constitution so that he couldn't be extradited to the us when he turned himself in. Here's the kicker, when the changes were made to the constitution he agreed to turn himself in provided his sentence be carried out in his own personal prison that he had built upon a mountain top which was actually a massive palace consisting of gaurds that were actually his bodyguards. The story goes on from here with Pablo eventually walking out of the prison when the police get tired of seeing him at ballgames on television and hearing about murders taking place in his prison. I highly recommend watching this documentary.
