Let's get something straight

I agree with the sentiment behind what is being said. That clarified, let's get on to the topic.

In 1991, the UN voted for a use of force resolution to oust the Iraqi army from Kuwait. In the resolution there was nothing, zero, nada, zilch about enting Iraq & deposing the leader. We were there to contain his army & remove them from Kuwait. Bush I was a pansy for not including that in the resolution but, either way, that wasn't the game plan.

I've seen people pissing & moaning about Bush I & Bush II, Colin Powell, Stormin' Norman & just about anybody else involved. Well, it wasn't thier job. We, the UN supported American Army, did a kick ass, clean & almost bloodless (for our side) job & should be appreciated. Kuwait is once again free to hate us, Saudi still stabs us in the back every chance they have & the rest of the UN thinks we're bullies. So be it. Now we can do what should have been recommended 11 years ago.

“He who learns must suffer. And even in our sleep pain that cannot forget, falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God.”

Aeschylus : The Agamemnon

The poignant lessons of war cannot be learned by those who cannot feel their stings.
