At the risk of sounding like an idiot-is it custom or traditional for the whole family to go grocery shopping in Mexico?

It seems that whenever it's grocery store time it's mostly women, some guys & entire familes of hispanics. I don't recall this in Phoenix but LA, Chicago & now here, it's become a family gathering at Kroger Food Stores,

funny thing that you mention, when there's the chance, the whole family goes to shopping, so everybody can get "their" stuff.

I guess we are just too lazy to do a damn list of "needed" stuff
