HAIFA, Israel - A suicide bomber blew himself up aboard a crowded bus in the northern city of Haifa on Wednesday, killing at least 14 people and injuring dozens in the first terrorist attack in two months, officials said.

Gaza widower blames world after raid kills mother of 10

BUREIJ REFUGEE CAMP, Gaza Strip - Nuha Maqadma, nine months pregnant with her 11th child, was holding her youngest close to her when her house collapsed during an Israeli army raid in this shantytown, killing her.

But her husband, Shukri Maqadma, 44, doesn't point a finger at Israel alone for the tragedy that befell him and his family. Instead, he blames the international community for its failure to halt the frequent Israeli incursions.

Israeli tanks and troops invaded the Bureij camp early Monday, blowing up houses and arresting suspected militants. Eight Palestinians were killed in the raid, including Nuha Maqadma, 38.

"All world leaders are partners in the killing of my wife. The world's failure to take steps to stop this brutal aggression and these grave breaches of humanitarian law encourages Israel to commit more crimes," Maqadma said.

"I used to believe in peace and that we could live together with Israel, but now I have changed my mind," Maqadma said.

I particularly enjoyed the part of how it's the worlds fault but not one mention of Fafsa nor Hamas. :grumpy:

Actually i was amazed that they've gone since january without an attack. Sharon is hated but they don't call him the bulldozer for nothing. He has cleaned house over the last year and imo is to thank for the couple of months that suicide bombers have been silent even at a time when all terrorist groups are joining together against Israel.

On another note, did you see that bus? How do 15 people walk away from that when the bus was left twisted & mangled?

I'm still amazed & confounded by the fact that the Israli's overwhelmingly voted him back to power & the Palestinians didn't see a great big sign saying "THEY ARE PISSED"

2 months was nice though. As of a few minutes ago, an AP headline referred to them rolling tanks, again.

I think the Israelis are finally learning that giving away all the land in the world is not going to appease the Arabs. I'm not really sure what i think about Sharon but i sure as hell have respect the man.

He's a cold hearted brutal asshole with a penchant for extreme violence is my general impression of him.

That said, he takes care of business which is exaclty what they need right now.

Doesn't really matter anyway. They hardly need to concoct stories like this for the Palestinians to be seen for what they truly are.

Hamas leader dead & Hamas threatens WWIII

By IBRAHIM BARZAK, Associated Press Writer

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Israeli helicopters destroyed a car with missiles on Saturday, killing a Hamas leader and three of his bodyguards. The strike came a day after the militant group claimed responsibility for two deadly attacks that killed 16 Israelis.

The apparent target of Saturday's strike was Ibrahim Makadmeh, 51, who is accused of engineering attacks that killed 28 Israelis. The last was the tank bombing that killed four soldiers in Gaza last month.

He was the highest-ranking Palestinian militant leader killed since Israeli forces killed Abu Ali Mustafa of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in August of 2001. Mustafa's death prompted the assassination of Israeli Tourism Minister Rehavam Zeevi in a Jerusalem hotel on Oct. 17, which in turn sparked Israel's occupation of the West Bank.

Hamas vowed to avenge Makadmeh, saying no Israeli was safe. "We encourage our cells to plan and prepare strikes against the occupiers ... especially Jewish political leaders," the group's military wing said in a statement. "The terrorist government will realize the size of the disaster that it has unleashed."

As the Israeli army promised more strikes against militants, Saeb Erekat, a Palestinian Cabinet official, criticized the air strike and said there is no longer due process in Israel.

"This is more like the mafia than the government," Erekat said.
