The Pentagon is saying now that there was definitely an anti-aircraft gun in the compound that had been firing at US planes. No debris from the gun was found at the site. The investigation is still on-going.

The Afghans say there was no weapons in the facility, and the U.S. says there was. Obviously someone is lieing so I don't believe anyone. Just cuz the Pentagon said so, that isn't going to persuade me or any intelligent person. I'm sure the U.S. officials have lied many times during this war on terror in order to retain public support.

Trust no one. ;)

Am I the only one who sees that now that a new gov't has power in 'Stan, they want the US to get the hell out?

Of course not. You have to weigh all the evidence.

I'm sure the U.S. officials have lied many times during this war on terror in order to retain public support.

You're sure of that, are you? Without any evidence other than the a priori principle that the US is evil...

You might wanna think about rephrasing that. You just excluded yourself from the intelligent people.

It all depends on where you put the emphasis...

"...any intelligent person" or "any intelligent person "

:p ;)

odd, i skim-read an article in the sunday times this morning that said no evidence of an anti-aircraft weapon had been found at the site, but shells had been removed for testing.

haven't looked on any site for a link though, bit preoccupied at the mo :)

Yeah, as I said, no debris from the gun had been found, i.e., there's no physical evidence at the site that the gun was there. At this point, the only evidence would be the reports of pilots who were shot at by an AA gun, and the spotters who pin-pointed the location of the gun.

Here's a link to the latest story at Fox.

So whatcha doin'?
