Most overpriced home markets (list)

Fresno?

God...

whatever for?

It's hot in the summer, cold in the winter... fog, pollution, not exactly well located or bursting with culture and glamour. It's a pimple on the ass of the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

36Boston-Quincy, MA
kind of suprised at this ranking. thought it would be higher.

22Providence-New Bedford-Fall River, RI-MA
that is a bit shocking. there must be some great sections of fall river and new bedford that i've never been to.

providence has been booming for the past few years. all sorts of new construction, finances are on track, businesses coming in, etc
fall river and new bedford are typical middle to lower income cities.

The term here is "equity refugees." The houses might be overpriced by the magazine's criteria... but they're still damn cheap compared to a comparable house in LA.

Complete list here...

Don't forget to add in all those specious "fees" that lenders like to add to the closing costs, the tax rates, water, sewage, trash, electricity, phone, cable, etc...that go with owning a home. It's a damned sight better than renting, though. Trust me. I've been on both sides of the line.
