MS Office XP file attachments

Anyone using Office XP? Did you know that you can't send certain attachments through it unless you jump through MS's hoops to override it?

Take a gander... and as long as you're visiting Xi, why not register?? :headbng2:

Ever since I've used XP I've used the regedit to disable that problem. I have a habit of zipping things anyway, but you can't save incoming bat/exe attachments without the fix.

Found another way to get around it. Export the email to a pst file. Then open up Outlook Express, import it, and you can get to the attachement. Kind of a pain in the ass, but not bad if you only need to do it occasionally.

no no no! you're supposed to go to XIBASE to answer!! :D

Sammy posted a link on how to disable that in the registry over at Xi. But you have to go there to get it. :) And as long as you're there, why not post and register? ;)

But, I'm already registered over there. :confuse3:

I guess I could think up a new name. Hmmm. Wonder if Terahertz is taken? :D

Would that be ADVERTISING? Well, I do believe I read something about that in the AUP. :p
*insert obligatory j/k here*

Anyhoo, I've lurked a bit there but it never seemed active. Maybe I'll give it a try, since you say so. :p
