We got some heavy rain last night, and some decent winds, but the really nasty stuff passed south of Atlanta.
 
My mom is from the backwoords of Columbus, MS area-circa 1940 or so. She left ASAP. :D
 
I'm from Meridian, MS, but living on the MS coast for now. My parents (in Meridian) heard plenty of rucus when the storms blew through. They lost power for a while.

Newton, where the people were killed in the Walmart, is maybe half an hour down the road.
