My prayers will be with the parents...

Jesus! WTF were those guys on if they couldn't see an ambulance...

I'll keep my fingers crossed for his recovery.

thats so wrong. i cant believe they didnt see the ambulance. god i hope that kid survives. and as cold as it sounds i seriously doubt it. shit. :mad2: :crying3:you see people??!!! fucking pay attention to whats going on!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man that sucks. I really wonder how this child was immobilized in the ambulance if he has so many injuries from the accident. That infant should have been the one uninjured, if anyone, because he should have been in a car seat strapped into the stretcher. What do you want to make a bet that he was being held by someone? Not good; this is exactly why.

There have been quite a few ambulance drivers I know who got into accidents and it was actually the ambulance driver's fault. Even if their lights and sirens are on, they're not supposed to go barrelling through intersections, even if they have the green. Not only that, the medics in the back rarely wear seat belts, and usually get hurt in the accidents because of it.

I can't tell you how many times the families of our patients followed the ambulance too closely, going through red lights, thinking they're entitled (they're not). They've also hit the back of the ambulance when the ambulance stopped short and they've almost got hit when police tried to fall in behind the ambulance and didn't see them following so close.

I drove those ambulances for 6 years with no accidents and I was the only driver with a perfect driving record after that many years in the history of my corps. Just because they're driving an ambulance, doesn't mean they're really good drivers. Best just to get out of their way. Which so many people don't do either.

If he was only 3 days old with a serious heart condition he would have been in an incubator in the back of the ambulance, on O2 with drips just about everywhere and possibly a portable ventilator and monitors depending on how serious the heart condition is. You can stand up in the back of our ambulances but I doubt there would have been room for more than the nurse and doctor as well.
