For 15 months I've been using WW2 Germany & Japan as a reference. Pointing out that what is happening now is not new. Well, finally somebody took the time to examione my claims.

Tune In:
Monday, June 28 @ 8pm ET/PT and 12AM ET

After the end of WWII, Allied forces faced guerrilla bombings and attacks in occupied Germany--Nazi loyalists tried to derail reconstruction by sabotage and killing collaborators, while Werewolves, an underground organization of die-hard SS officers, boasted of rebirth of the Party. Find out if their bark was worse than their bite in this dogged investigation into how Werewolves terrorized military and civilian targets, and the Allied attempt to purge Germany's past at denazification tribunals. Re: History Channel, TONIGHT

Sorry Dood
Iraq ain't no Germany
sho nuff ain't Japan
Freedom in Iraq is doomed to fail.
But we will have free reign to roam around
and kill anyone we please. That's all that matters.

Re: History Channel, TONIGHT

I disagree.
Doesn't matter though.
The show is about how the SS, in 1945, acted like Ba'athists in 2004 or vice versa. It's proving what I've said for months & have received ridicule & once again have been shown to be correct. *handonhip

History Channel, TONIGHT

Hey Spanky
on my tube the program that precedes the one you are talking about is about "Iraq's warring factions" on the History channel, I’m watching it now.

The ONLY way to keep these uncivilized tribal savages under control is under the Iron Fist like what Saddam
did to them for three decades.

If you see them magically transforming into people
who are citizens of the 21st century well Good Luck!

Re: History Channel, TONIGHT

If you recall, Alfalfa, the Japs were about as evil menace & unbecoming as humans could possibly be. They were dirty nasty heathens with no sense of personal dignity. It took 7 years of reprogramming to teach them some manners.

The Germans, on the other hand, were worse.

Re: History Channel, TONIGHT

Whoa there Buckwheat!
Let us frame this debate in iron clad terms.

Are you saying that in 7-10 years Iraq will be well
on it's way to being a REAL nation?!?

Is that what you are saying?

Re: History Channel, TONIGHT

1, 4, 7, 10 years...whatever Froggy. I'm sayng that we've been down this road before & helped re-establish a broken nation(s) into a decent ally. They are now in the top 20 in economies & freedom. Let's not expect, as was the case for the last 15 months, for a war to be waged, won & the peace settled in 6, 8, 12, 15, or 24 months. There is no historical data to back that up. There is data to show that given time & effort they will be a better nation than they were in 2003.

I used them as examples because everybody expected miracles from the Bush Administration (knowing full well it wsan't gonna happen) and for peace to reign supreme in '04. It's just a beginning.

Have faith in the Americans. We always come through.

Listen up Butch!

I'm trying to tell ya!!!
There hasn't been an ongoing whine about how the Bosnian thing was a mistake. Iraq is going to be a miserable failure it will degenerate into civil war and I hope to God we can stand back and let them kill each other. But we all know that won't happen.

I believe.

Iraq had a future not so long ago. It was overthroown by a dictator. He & his 2 sons squashed teh life from that future. I think it can be resurrected. It can then be used to present to the opressors of the Muslim world that freedom & Islam are compatible or are, at the very least, are not mutually exclusive. One large nation, friendly to the west, along with a myriad of smaller nations (Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, etc) will do wonders to turn down the raging boil. First to a simmer, then all the way off.

I'm skeptical but I do believe it can happen that way.

Have faith in the Americans. We always come through.

Re: History Channel, TONIGHT

Now that we can agree on. Too bad the war on terror has a sandbox for a home.

Re: History Channel, TONIGHT

Well Woim

I'd hate to think that what's a goin' on in the sandbox
might cost us the election. I had to endure eight long years of the Slickmiester, please spare us even four years
of Lurch.

Re: History Channel, TONIGHT

It wasn't necessary to scare everybody away Pete, you dog.

Germany, after unconditional surrender, was divided into 4 sectoins. One each for the Americans, British, French & Soviets.

Upon an act of any of the Werewolves or colaborators, there was immediate & uncertain reprisals (specifically disallowed by the Geneva Convention). They were roughly as follows:

America: one dead = 13 dead

Britain= German-style justice-beheading

France=Kill all bad guys

Soviets=for each Soviet killed they would take 200 male civilians & kill them.
