need an adjustable output power inverter/brick..

Output requirements range from 12v to 16.5v and 1.5A to 0.5A. Anyone have one to recommend? I've been buying regular non-adjustable AC adpaters, but I've got a long run that requires some tweaking and would like an adjustable adapter.

DC Output.....polarity doesn't matter

Well, I've got one but don't remember where it came from (had it for eons, y'know). Can you pick up a used variac or some such? I'm pretty sure I've seen one that was 120VAC in and 0 to whatever DC output with a meter.

A brief search returns only variacs with AC output, but I'll continue looking. Thanks!
