Need help playing a movie.

So i downloaded this avi and i can't get the damn thing to play. I made sure it worked before i burned it to disk under win2k and now after installing winxp i can't get it to play. I've done the following:
Upgraded media player(what i used to watch it before)
I installed
ACE Mega CoDecs Pack
Divx 5.01/2 bundle
& quicktime full
and still all i get is the audio.

Can anyone help me with this?
Maybe i could upload the file or a portion of it to someone if anyone wants to have a look at it. (I'm on T2)

I don't have xp but personally I find .avis that won't play on anything else usually play on windvd. I use it for VCDs and .avi and mpeg files on my hard-drive. Power dvd works better for dvds ~ In my set-up which is ME.

I've used Powerdvd but haven't tried windvd yet. I'll give it a try.

Did you try codex? (I think that's what it's called....) .. or is that the same as DivX?

Windvd didn't work. I'm downloading Codex(nimo) now to give it a try.

I knew there was a reason for not changing to XP.

NIMO should do it I have also ran into the same problems with AVI files!
