The animated show South Park is returning to familiar - and fertile - comedic ground for its season-ending episode. That's right: Stan, Kenny, Cartman and Kyle are going back to Canada. Fans of the series will recall that a war between Canada and the U.S. served as the premise for the 1999 South Park movie, Bigger, Longer & Uncut.
The big-screen spinoff spawned the song Blame Canada, which included a line describing this nation as "not even a real country anyway," as well as a notoriously unkind jab at Anne Murray.
Modelled on The Wizard of Oz, the season finale pokes more fun at the True North. The boys travel here to confront "the new prime minister of Canada" because he has decreed that all adopted Canadian children must return to the land of their birth.
