Joe Nichols - Tequilla Makes Her Clothes Fall Off

She said: "I’m going out with my girlfriends.
"Margharitas at the Holiday Inn."
Oh, have mercy, my only thought,
Was Tequila makes her clothes fall off.

I told her: "Put an extra layer on."
I know what happens when she drinks Patron.
Her closet's missin' half the things she bought:
Yeah, Tequila makes her clothes fall off.

She’ll start by kicking out of her shoes,
Lose an ear-ring in her drink.
Leave her jacket in the bathroom stall:
Drop a contact down the sink.
Them pantyhose aint gonna last too long,
If the DJ puts Bon Jovi on.
She might come home in a table cloth:
Yeah, Tequila makes her clothes fall off.
Oh oh.

Instrumental Break.

She can handle any champagne brunch:
A bridal shower with Bacardi punch.
Jello shooters full of Smirnoff,
But Tequila makes her clothes fall off.

She’ll start by kicking out of her shoes,
Lose an ear-ring in her drink.
Leave her jacket in the bathroom stall:
Drop a contact down the sink.

She don’t mean nothin', she's just havin fun.
Tomorrow she say: "Oh, what have I done?"
Her friends will joke about the stuff she lost:
Yeah, Tequila makes her clothes fall off.
Oh, Tequila makes her clothes fall off.
Oh, Tequila makes her clothes fall off.

What is is about Tequilla that is just SO YUMMY and yet like one Margarita will do what 5 or 6 vodka drinks could never do?? I SWEAR it's not the fact that me and my girls manage to make like 3 margaritas (at the most) out of 12oz of tequilla... :brush:

Four shots of tequilla and I'll fight a chainsaw.

Five, and I'll win.

:rofl4:

I prefer my tequilla blended with ice and various fruity flavours...my first alcoholic beverage was tequilla and gingerale...turned me off the good stuff for quite awhile...but after my first margaritta I was hooked :D I dunno how I stayed away from such a wonderful beverage for so long :D

Nixy, Aren't you from Atlantic Canada (aka fish fucker) ?

If so, this is a great party song. Nothing like it when you get 25 drunken fellers singing the chorus about us stealing yank gold.

O the year was 1778
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now
A letter of marque came from the king
To the scummiest vessel I've ever seen

God damn them all
I was told we'd cruise the seas for American gold
We'd fire no guns, shed no tears
Now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier,
The last of Barrett's Privateers

2. O Elcid Barrett cried the town
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now
For twenty brave men all fishermen who
Would make for him the Antelope's crew
God damn them all . . . .

3. The Antelope sloop was a sickening site
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now
She'd list to the port and her sails in rags
And the cook in the scuppers with the staggers and jags
God damn them all . . . .

4. On the King's birthday we put to sea
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now
Ninety-one days to Montego Bay
Pumping like madmen all the way
God damn them all . . . .

5. On the ninety-sixth day we sailed again
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now
When a great big Yankee hove in sight
With our cracked four-pounders we made to fight
God damn them all . . . .

6. The Yankee lay low down with gold
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now
She was broad and fat and loose in stays
But to catch her took the Antelope two whole days
God damn them all . . . .

7. Then at length she stood two cables away
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now
Our cracked four-pounders made awful din
But with one fat ball the Yank stove us in
God damn them all . . . .

8. The Antelope shook and pitched on her side
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now
Barrett was smashed like a bowl of eggs
And the main truck carried off both me legs
God damn them all . . . .

9. Now here I lay in my twenty-third year
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now
It's been six years since we sailed away
And I just made Halifax yesterday
God damn them all . . . .

I was born in Newfoundland, yes.

I loved it when my aunt used to get drunk (before she had kids) and then she'd sing the Bismark song :D My dad used to sing ONE line from the star spangled banner "Oh say can you see by the dawn's early light" that was all he knew...and he'd sing it OVER AND OVER

Sink The Bismark Lyrics

In may of nineteen forty-one the war had just begun
The germans had the biggest ships
That had the biggest guns
The Bismark was the fastest ship
That ever sailed the seas
On her deck were guns as big as steers
And shells as big as trees
Out of the cold and foggy night
Came the british ship the Hood
And ev'ry british seaman he knew and understood
They had to sink the Bismark the terror of the sea
Stop those guns as bid as steers
And those shells as big as trees

We'll find that german battleship
That's makin' such a fuss
We gotta sink the Bismark
'Cause the world depends on us
Hit the decks a-runnin' boys
And spin those guns around
When we find the Bismark we gotta cut her down

The Hood found the Bismark and on that fatal day
The Bismark started firin' fifteen miles away
We gotta sink the Bismark was the battle sound
But when the smoke had cleared away
The mighty Hood went down
For six long days and weary nights
They tried to find her trail
Churchill told the people put ev'ry ship a-sail
'Cause somewhere on that ocean
I know she's gotta be
We gotta sink the Bismark to the bottom of the sea

We'll find that german battleship
That's makin' such a fuss
We gotta sink the Bismark
'Cause the world depends on us
Hit the decks a-runnin' boys
And spin those guns around
When we find the Bismark we gotta cut her down

The fog was gone the seventh day
And they saw the mornin' sun
Ten hours away from homeland
The Bismark made its run
The admiral of the british fleet said
Turn those bows around
We found that german battleship
And we're gonna cut her down

The british guns were aimed
And the shells were comin' fast
The first shell hit the Bismark
They knew she couldn't last
That mighty german battleship is just a memory
Sink the Bismark was the battle cry
That shook the seven seas

We found that german battleship
Was makin' such a fuss
We had to sink the Bismark
'Cause the world depends on us
We hit the deck a-runnin' and
We spun those guns around
We found the mighty Bismark
And then we cut her down

We found that german battleship
Was makin' such a fuss
We had to sink the Bismark
'Cause the world depends on us
We hit the deck a-runnin' and
We spun those guns around

Party songs:

1.
Havin' A Party
(S. Cooke) As recorded by Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.

We're havin' a party
Everybody's swinging
Dancing to the music
On the radio
So listen, Mr. DJ
Keep those records playing
'Cause I'm having such a good time
Dancing with my baby

We're having a party
Dancing to the music
Played by the DJ
On the radio
Cokes are in the ice box
Popcorn's on the table
Me and my baby
Are out there on the floor

We're havin' a party
Everybody's swinging
Dancing to the music
On the radio
So listen, Mr. DJ
Keep those records playing
'Cause I'm having such a good time
Dancing with my baby

Everybody's swinging
Oldies, doing the twist now
If you take requests
I've got a few for you
Don't forget the soul twist
Play that one called "I Know"
I got to hear what suites me
No other songs will do

We're havin' a party
Everybody's swinging
Dancing to the music
On the radio
So listen, Mr. DJ
Keep those records playing
'Cause I'm having such a good time
Dancing with my baby

'Cause I'm having such a good time
Dancing with my baby

All you got to do is move
Every time you steal that groove

It ain't nothing but a party (It ain't nothing but a party)
It ain't nothing but a party (It ain't nothing but a party)
It ain't nothing but a party (It ain't nothing but a party)
It ain't nothing but a house party

Verse 2
Come on baby dig that crazy soul
I know you're going to lose control
You can do the boogaloo
Anything that you want to

Chorus

Baby don't you lose it
I said roll is stroll it

It ain't nothing but a party (It ain't nothing but a party)

3.
Louie Louie
The Kingsmen

CHORUS:

Louie Louie, oh no
Me gotta go
Aye-yi-yi-yi, I said
Louie Louie, oh baby
Me gotta go

Fine little girl waits for me
Catch a ship across the sea
Sail that ship about, all alone
Never know if I make it home

CHORUS

Three nights and days I sail the sea
Think of girl, constantly
On that ship, I dream she's there
I smell the rose in her hair.

CHORUS

Okay, let's give it to 'em, right now!

GUITAR SOLO

See Jamaica, the moon above
It won't be long, me see me love
Take her in my arms again
Tell her I'll never leave again

CHORUS

Let's take it on outa here now
Let's go!!

I remember my father reading a book to me when I was about 8 or 9 about World War II, in it there were a few pages about her (his) first and last trip out into the Atlantic. Since then I have had a fascination with that ship.

And oh yes. I know that song like the back of my hand! :D

I have a fascination with the SS Caribou. I have a book called "The Night of the Caribou" (bought on the MV Caribou crossing from North Sydney to Port Aux Basques) and I *heart* it

Could've been the whiskey
Might've been the gin
Could've been the three or four six-packs,
I don't know, but look at the mess I'm in
My head is like a football
I think I'm going to die
Tell me, me oh, me oh my
Wasn't that a party

Someone took a grapefruit
Wore it like a hat
I saw someone under my kitchen table
Talking to my old tom cat
They were talking about hockey
The cat was talking back

Long about then every-thing went black
Wasn't that a party

I'm sure it's just my memory
Playing tricks on me
But I think I saw my buddy
Cutting down my neighbour's tree

Could've been the whiskey
Might've been the gin
Could've been the three or four six-packs,
I don't know, but look at the mess I'm in
My head is like a football
I think I'm going to die
Tell me, me oh, me oh my
Wasn't that a party

Billy, Joe and Tommy
Well they went a little far
They were sittin' in my back yard, blowing on a sireen
From somebody's police car

So you see, Your Honour
It was all in fun
The little bitty track meet down on main street
Was just to see if the cops could run
Well they run us in to see you
In an alcoholic haze
I sure can use those thirty days
To re-cover from the party

Could've been the whiskey
Might've been the gin
Could've been the three or four six-packs,
I don't know, but look at the mess I'm in
My head is like a football
I think I'm going to die
Tell me, me oh, me oh my
Wasn't that a party

I stay away from Tequila, too hard on the stomach.

I've been going hard or going home since I started drinking. I do vodka coolers here and there but for the longest time my drink of choice was rye and coke (or if I DIDN'T feel like stomach rot the next day then rum and coke...) now I love margaritas made with tequilla...I don't drink very often so I am not to worried.

Is this by the same person who did The Battle of New Orleans?
