A plane with 152 passengers aboard crashed near Venezuela's border with Colombia Tuesday after suffering engine trouble. It was unclear whether anyone survived.

The West Caribbean Airways plane was headed from Panama to Martinique when its pilot reported engine trouble to the Caracas airport, said Francisco Paz, president of the National Aviation Institute.

Airport authorities lost radio contact with the plane later in the area of Machiques, in the western state of Zulia, he said.

Interior Minister Jesse Chacon told local television that authorities were searching for survivors from the aircraft that was en route from Panama to Martinique in the Caribbean.

Another Crash

What the hell is going on? This is the third place within the last few weeks that has gone down. It's unbelievable already!

so happy to be flying tomorrow...i se these plane threads and close my eyes put my fingers in my ears and go lalalaalalalalala

Don't worry Paul. Just remember that modern planes can lose 3 of 4 engines and still make it all the way to the scene of the crash.
