"As you may know, President Bush may have the opportunity to appoint several new justices to the U.S. Supreme Court during his second term. The 1973 Supreme Court ruling called Roe v. Wade made abortion in the first three months of pregnancy legal. Do you think President Bush should nominate Supreme Court justices who would uphold the Roe v. Wade decision, or nominate justices who would overturn the Roe v. Wade decision?"

What is wrong with that poll question?

It seems like Bush could nominate a justice who would gladly legalize slavery and cockfights, and bring back prohibition, and it would be OK as long as he or she would uphold Roe v. Wade.

Nope. It's that

1. Congress can put the stop to any of the foolishness you just wrote

and

2. It's a loaded question. It's an either for abortion, or anti-abortion question.

The 1973 Supreme Court ruling called Roe v. Wade made abortion in the first three months

It's misleading. The 1973 Supreme Court ruling made abortion legal...at any point.

Well I'd go straight to the bias of the poll question.

Just like the silly lefties say OMG Bush is going to invade more countries and re-institute the draft!

The question subsumes Bush is going to undo the mistake perpetrated in 69.

Hell if abortion was put to a vote it would pass today.

I know Congress could, and I'd hope they would. I was trying to point out the single-issue politics of it that SnP pointed out a few posts later.
