In the United States, do we have a right to privacy? In general, not in specific instances (like medical records).

Yea or nay, why?

If you others wish to bitch about your repressive governments you may. :D

yes I think we do. Illegal searches and seizures to me does imply it is there. And I dont see why we wouldnt have it

I don't think so, anymore. I think it's another concept that has fallen by the wayside. Perhaps we have a right to privacy, but in fact little privacy exists.

Seems we've passively given away any semblance of privacy which we may have once enjoyed. They have chips in our currency so they can tell how much you carry, our ssn is required for everything we do, and the state of electronic surveilance has reached a point that there are no walls to our property or home....I just hope that they never succeed in creating a cashless society. We may as well commit suicide en masse at that point.

Edited for the grammatically correct. ;)

Chips in our currency? Where'd you get that from? I know about the plastic strip, and the magnetic ink, but I've never seen a chip...

Squiggy, you're beginning to really scare me. Conspiracy theories can be fun, to a point. Call your AA/NA/LA (liberal anonymous) friend & see if he can recommend a good counselor. ;)

Tell ya what, Squiggy. You try it, since you wouldn't believe me if I told you it didn't work. Make sure you get some good digital pics of the chip, so we can all share in the experience. ;)

You must be right, Gonz. Our government would never do anything like that...

Then let me ask you this...are your $20. blowing up in the microwave?

Dude..I have all my twenties safely wrapped in aluminum foil so they can't read them. You just want me to unwrap them so they can zero in...:D

Hell. I just watched that trailer on a government computer. Guess there's going to be a knock on my door sometime soon. In fact...if you do not own a weapon, Squiggy, I would suggest you purchase one ASAP. They might come to your door, too... :eek3:
