I need some information on the good things about the Death Penalty. It's for school.

I have to debate about it.

Sometimes we get to execute the wrong person and it makes for really great movies about the family"s unending search for justice...I Just love those movies...

Doesn't everyone? Who can resist a heart wrencher like killing the wrong person for a crime they never committed? Those are just the best...Almost as good as waging a war on false premise and killing a whole bunch of people... :wink2:

Of course, putting an innocent man in prison for 40 years is acceptable.

Many have been freed after long incarcerations and finally coming up with proof of innocence. That can't happen with a dead man.....:retard:

And after seeting them free magically erases the wrong that has been committed.. :retard4:

WTF? If they were freed because they didn't do the crime, why the hell would you ask that? Are they supposed to die or stay in jail just so somebody pays for the crime? Thats just too fucking weird for me....

I'd rather get the death penalty than spend 40 years in prison wrongly convicted. I speant 3 months in MRP and that was hell enough. I couldn't imagine jail. Besides, when you get cleared of the charges it's not like you pick up where your life left off. You have no life, you can't get hired for a decent paying job because it's still on your record for quite some time, most States will not compensate you.

i think what jeslek refers to is that the act of incarcerating an innocent person for 40 years is a wrong not magically erased through their release.

i am surprised that most states don't award compensation, especially for long jail terms. in the uk we have had several high profile cases where police bungling and improper procedures lead to innocent men being convicted, they invariably get compensated for the states mistake.

Yes, considering the frivolous claims that some people put before the courts for compensation that does strike me as strange.

If i was put in jail for something i did'nt commit and freed after say 40 yrs, sorry but i'm going straight back, either life or death penalty cause i'm gonna off every muthafucker involved in my case. - including my defense :D

Tut,tut... no compensation for you then!

Seriously though... 40 years? Whatever happened to forensic evidence? I think these days it's more difficult to get a conviction on circumstancial evidence alone.... I certainly would have a field day blowing a hole in their case.... :)
