I hope somebody remembers this. It was the Minnesota Twins vs. The St. Louis Cardinals.
I can't remember which game it was, but there was a controversial call made in which a Twins batter was running towards first base. The umpire calls "safe" before the runner even reaches the base.
After the call, but still before the runner reaches first base, the first baseman catches the ball for an obvious out.
Replays weren't even necessary. It was incredibly obvious that the runner was out. Successive replays confirmed that the runner was indeed out. Just one of several bad calls made during that particular game.
My question: How many of you guys out there remember this, and more importantly (since I have coworkers accusing me of making this story up) does anybody know where I can find video of the call?
