NEW YORK (CNN) -- Jazz legend Lionel Hampton, who took the vibraphone from the world of radio broadcasts to an improvisational jazz instrument, died Saturday leaving behind a legacy that will echo in music for years to come. He was 94.

That sucks, he was one of the fathers.
I've just been getting into jazz this year.
Jazz wasn't even on my radar when i was growing up. It took me years to get to the point where could respect and comprehend the complexity of this music. But now that i do, i especially love to watch those old timers do their stuff. They were true artists in every sense of the word.
 
My condolences to the people of Earth but I was getting tired of Roy Orbisons warbling and wanted a little smooth in my music. I promise to give you someone as good, later. :biker:
