I thought the bombers were heading out of here at night.... however one just passed overhead. I just hope to god that they don't drop any accidentally on the way... I don't like being under the flightpath... :(

takes a few hours to get to iraq, i assume they're leaving now to get there some time late in iraq-time.

I think they said on the news it's an eight hour flight and they are 3 hours ahead of us, so that means they'll be dropping their payloads about 3 am local time.

5-6 hour flight time from England to Baghdad

I think saddam may never wake up again, thanks to the sugical strike on Wed night.

Whose eardrums? saddams or Jim Lehrers? If that's the case, they know saddam is still alive?

The more I find out about him the more I don't want him killed. He needs to have life long torture...Stalin Jr with his eyes on Head Hellion.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Strong explosions shook the Iraqi capital after sunset Saturday, the latest in the daily dose of aerial bombardment by U.S.-led forces. The Iraqi regime asserted battle successes and maintained Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) and his sons had "the aggression" in hand.

Well, I don't know whether he's dead or not, but I suspect he may be seriously injured if the regime have to keep doing his talking for him. It does seem rather fishy.

Auntie, I doubt a bomb would drop on you. The bay doors would be closed and the bombs wouldn't be primed to explode.... now a plane outright crashing... thats another matter altogether.

oh man, it was a better kill than previously thought ;)

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi state television said President Saddam Hussein chaired a meeting of his top officials on Saturday and said he was satisfied with the performance of Iraqi soldiers facing a U.S. and British invasion.

"The president expressed his satisfaction at the performance of the Iraqi army and members of the Baath Party and Iraqi tribes," the television said, without showing pictures of the reported meeting.

It said Saddam's second son Qusay, Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan, Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz, Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf and Defense Minister General Sultan Hashim Ahmed attended the meeting.

Is he dead or not? Don't say he's dead if he's not dead or they don't know...:grumpy:

Q-in reality, we don't know yet. But, every time Iraqi media says all is ok, the shit is flying big time. Hence, he & his cabinet met probably means they were all worm food as of Wednesday night.
