See BS in Barrie

not this time.

It's a weird little story. Here in our city, we have a brand new electronic touch screen voting system, and I guess a 60 Minutes producer was gonna try and do a little create-a-news, and come up here and "test" it. I imagine to play up on the whole Florida thing.

Aaaaanyhoo, it seems the councillors thought that it was a test of the electoral process, but they came to find out that what the intention was was to copy the software and play with that, looking for glitches (not quite written in this story this way, but I can't find a link...it's just what the local yokel news is saying.).

This Brown dude is a freak. The intention of CBS seems to have been to come up here, copy software they had no right to copy (the town doesn't own it, the maker does), and it seems the maker has put the brakes on it.

My long winded point here...it's interestin' that CBS was wanting to come up here and create a story from a non story by doin something illegal/violating copyrights.

It's just so weird. I wouldn't have thunk they'd come all the way up here for create-a-news...but I guess if they have the dough why not?

This is about halfway down the slippery slope, Inky...there are a couple things I have agreed with Gonz about :D

Perhaps they saw your 'legs' av, and trumped up this current debacle to scope you out. :D

Like they ever get real snow.

3 words...Bite me Pseudo-Canuck. :D

If you've ever been to the areas around the Great Lakes, you'd know that we get tons of snow here in the US.

Been there, done that. Not terribly impressed. Come up here and I'll take you to Amos in Feb. They don't even bother to try to get down to asphalt in winter there. They just scrape off the loose stuff and sand it for traction. Trying to put money in a 5' tall parking meter during the summer is a hoot.
