As far as making up holidays, there's usually a long standing tradition & formality to be had before it even gets to the "holiday" phase. Or you own a greeting card company & want to sell more stock. It's usually just a little harder than..."Hey, I have an idea, lets take Marxism, add we hate whitey to it, put on some BS native African garb & call it Kwinzi, no...quannte, no, hey, I know, we'll call it Kwanza."
