SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - California could be on its way to becoming the first U.S. state to outlaw smoking in cars or trucks that have children inside.
A bill is being considered in the state Assembly to allow police to stop vehicles if a minor appears to be exposed to smoke from a pipe, cigar, cigarette, or "any other plant."

I've got no problem with that if they also ban the following...

1. Eating
2. Drinking of any beverage
3. Cellular phones (hands-on)
4. Books (except the owners manual)
5. Newspapers
6. DVD/VHS players that have TV screens in the front seat, or that can be seen by the driver
7. Radios that put out over 85 dB of sound

If they cared about their kids, they wouldn't light up in their presence anyway. I don't smoke in my car, either. If I feel the urge to smoke, I do it at a rest stop.

For a minute there, I was sure you were going to include sex in that ban list...:eek5:

With kids in the car? What kind of sick, depraved, mind would...nevermind... Isn't that covered under public indecency, though?

8. sex

WTF? Are you not the same person that argued for a month about whether a business owner should be able to decide if he wants to allow smoking? Yet it's ok for them to ban it in your own vehicle?

I'm just going along with the flow, all the while, fighting the current. It's like this...if people won't see sanity, then maybe, just maybe, they'll see ridiculousness of all the rest, when it's all grouped together.
