Gone to the Dodgers. Now we need a closer, a lead-off hitter, and a shortstop. That one hurts. Hey, Smoltz, you ready back off your ego, go back and fill the closer role for the good of the fuckin' team? Makes me wonder what the dugout opinion of your character is, especially when Chipper Jones is giving back large chunks of salary to allow the team to keep and attract other talent.

I'm thinking '06 might be the one that breaks the streak. :( Schuerholtz needs to work some serious magic.
 
Plus Farnsworth. So, back to no closer in the bullpen. Whee.

I ain't giving up quite yet - there's months to go and the front office is trying to work their usual magic, but it doesn't look too pure right now.
 
And so far Texas has... umm... been used to get better offers for players from other teams. Yeah.
