...this. What a surprise. France knew. Germany knew. Russia knew. Dubya knew. Slick Willie knew. The world knew. Does the frog know yet?

Former US president Bill Clinton said in October during a visit to Portugal that he was convinced Iraq had weapons of mass destruction up until the fall of Saddam Hussein, Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Manuel Durao Barroso said.

"When Clinton was here recently he told me he was absolutely convinced, given his years in the White House and the access to privileged information which he had, that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction until the end of the Saddam regime," he said in an interview with Portuguese cable news channel SIC Noticias.

I see the word 'convinced' right alongside of access to priveledged information. I can't decide wether that truly means that he had defacto smoking gun proof or just reams of coincidental solid leads. Either way, it apparantly was weighed in as being too politically miring to take it back to armed conflict status... which is always a presidential option. The perception of being the path to a lesser evil being weighed against the whole advantage/disadvantage scale of geopolitical benefits bla bla... *goes into a windy neutral toned international affairs college professorial dissertation guarranteed to place the audience into a magic show sleep trance*

 So...Because some portuguese guy says its so, it must be so...Gotta love Gonzo Propaganda...
All this just to preempt the barrage of attacks as Bush pulls our WMD hunters out without having found anything, Gonz?
I'm sure you also saw Powell admission that they lied about Saddam's connection to Al Quaeda...
Know what? This discussion is so stupid anymore, that I don't even have any interest in it...Before the invasion, I asked what all of you would do if we attacked and didn't find any WMDs. Funny, none of you said you would spend the rest of your time making excuses and continuing your denial.

See if you can find a more blatantly obvious piece of editorializing than is written by MSNBC, can you?

many Americans appear to feel that the disinformation or half-truths used to build the case for war, deliberate or not, now appear justified.

Bad journalism.

Good journalism is so rare that I'm not sure anyone recognizes it until well after the fact (if at all).

many Americans appear to feel that the disinformation or half-truths used to build the case for war, deliberate or not, now appear justified.

Unfortunately, bad journalism doesn't make it less true.

Oh goody!!! We've found proof that they dicarded weapons!!!
